As a family-run business, authenticity is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring every item we offer truly represents our values. Each piece, from abayas to co-ords, is thoughtfully chosen by us, reflecting styles we love and know you will too.
A SMALL FAMILY BUSINESS
OUR STORY
In 1996, our dad came to the UK from Pakistan. Upon arrival, he worked in warehouses and factories to make enough money for our family. Eventually, having always wanted to work for himself he opened a small stall in Oastler Market, Bradford, selling fabrics and scarves. Having two daughters he decided to name the business after our initials thus in 2003 H&K Fashion was born.
For years, he tirelessly worked at the market, developing a loyal customer base while adapting to the evolving needs of the community. But as times changed and both the market and the loose fabric industry began to dwindle, the idea of expanding into a storefront slowly took shape. By 2023, equipped with over 20 years of experience, and after my sister and I completed our university degrees, we decided it was the perfect time to make it happen. Combining our dad’s expertise with our fresh perspectives in design, marketing, and business, we took a leap of faith.
In early 2023, we secured a property on Darley Street in the heart of Bradford City Centre. Transforming the space into a welcoming shop was not easy! It took months of hard work, late nights, and overcoming unexpected challenges. But with the support of our family and community, we finally opened our doors just in time for Eid, July 2023.
Today, H&K Fashion has grown into more than what we could’ve imagined. While our core collection focuses on modest and trendy clothing for women, we’ve also expanded our collections to include men’s and children’s wear. Whether shopping in-store or online, we strive to provide an experience that reflects our values: quality, authenticity, and a connection with our community.
As a family-run business, we are deeply grateful for the incredible support we’ve received from those who have shopped with us, shared kind words, or supported us from afar. This journey has been nothing short of a blessing, and we look forward to continuing to grow with you.
